The process of sourcing wedding suppliers can be overwhelming (I’ve been there as a bride so I know exactly how you feel!). With so many options available to you, how do you narrow them down and make a decision? Here are some tips to help you organise your search:
Identify your desired suppliers
If you have specific suppliers in mind, such as a particular band, photographer or caterer, reach out to them first to secure their services.
Seek inspiration from other weddings
If you’ve attended weddings where you admired the styling or flowers, ask your friends for their supplier details. This can help you decide what you do (and don’t) like.
Set your budget
Determine how much you can afford to spend on each element of your wedding, as the industry caters to various budgets. If you’d like to prioritise spending on your dream venue then you may need to be more frugal with other items which, in turn, can help rule out some suppliers. If you really struggle with this element, hiring a planner can be extremely helpful as we can guide you on how best to allocate your funds.
Obtain multiple quotes
I always recommend receiving at least three quotes for each element of your wedding day to compare the services and offerings of multiple suppliers. Not every supplier will fit your budget; it doesn’t mean they are overpriced, they just aren’t the supplier for you.
Check with your venue
If you’ve booked your venue, check to see if they have a particular list of recommended suppliers you must choose from or if they can provide some inspiration for you.
Trust your gut
If there is something about a supplier which may have put you off, or you just don’t feel a rapport or vibe with them, then trust your gut and move on!
Consider hiring a Wedding Planner
If you’re struggling or just don’t have the time to research and contact suppliers, consider hiring a wedding planner. They can recommend suppliers that perfectly fit your needs and budget, plus they might be able to get you a better deal.
