The First 5 Steps of Wedding Planning

First things first, congratulations on your engagement! Cherish this special time; make memories, announce your wonderful news to loved ones and, most importantly, enjoy your engagement for a while. Remember, planning should be an enjoyable experience, not a headache!

So, you’re ready to start planning but aren’t sure where to begin? Here are the first 5 steps of wedding planning which you should take:

1. Discuss your priorities with your partner

Make a list of your top priorities, such as the venue, catering, entertainment, or time of year. Think about what you would like to have if there is some extra budget available.

2. Build your budget around your priorities

Keep in mind that your dream venue may cost more than you anticipated, so you may need to adjust your budget accordingly.

3. Create a draft guest list

Even though it may seem early, this can significantly affect your overall budget since supplier quotes are often based on cost-per-head. Moreover, you don’t want to waste time viewing a venue that cannot accommodate your desired guest count.

4. Contact your preferred suppliers first

It’s no secret that the most popular suppliers are in high demand. If there’s a certain supplier you’ve had your eye on for months then get in touch asap! To avoid disappointment, consider being flexible with the time of year or day of the week. This can greatly expand the availability of options for you.

5. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, book a complimentary consultation with me!

We can run through all of your ideas, and I can explain how I can help make your dreams a reality. Whether you would like me to handle just the on-the-day coordination or would prefer I manage the entire planning process, we will always collaborate to make your day unforgettable.
